In all the excitement and hype about various facial products (to soften, brighten, tighten, make you look 100 years younger, so on and so forth), I often end up forgetting all about my poor body and limbs. Lately, my legs’ favourite party trick is to turn themselves into a dry, scaly mess when they get ignored, which has finally prompted me to get onto treating my the skin on my body just as carefully as I treat the skin on my face. Here are the products that I’ve employed to literally save my skin…
MooGoo Skin Milk Udder Cream
If there is one body product you will permanently find in my skincare stash, it would be the interestingly-named but oh-so-effective Udder Cream moisturiser, which has me looking forward to covering my body in the vanilla-scented, creamy goodness on a twice-daily basis. I haven’t had a scaly-leg situation since I started using this, and I don’t plan to stop anytime soon.
Milk and Co Body Scrub*
A new addition to my bodycare lineup but a very welcomed one. This gorgeous line of skincare by Michael and Lindy Klim is exciting skincare aficionados everywhere, and I can very easily see why. This yummy coconut-shell scrub is full of skin-loving ingredients such as rosehip oil (a personal favourite), lavender oil and aloe vera, and leaves your skin feeling so soft and smooth that you may not be able to stop touching your skin. Or maybe that’s just me that does that.
Mecca Cosmetica Luxury Elixir Body Oil
Gorgeous new packaging aside, this body oil from our favourite makeup and skincare purveyors is SO luxe, I’m almost rationing my use so I don’t run out of it too quickly. But when I do use it, I’m in heaven. The smell, the texture, the hydration, it’s all there and it’s all beautiful.
Jurlique Citrus Hand Cream
A handbag staple that ticks off all my favourite elements of an excellent hand cream – non-greasy, fresh-smelling, super-hydrating, and perfect for use in both summer and winter
Frank Body Scrub – Cacao
Yes, I did succumb to the hype. And even though I’m slightly perturbed by a marketing campaign which refers to ‘Frank’ as if he is a real person (although, is he? If he is, he certainly has a thing for half-naked gals covered in coffee granules), there’s no denying the actual scrub is very good at what it does. I picked up the Cacao version, which made my bathroom smell like a chocolate cake factory and my skin feel unbelievable due to the combination of exfoliating coffee granules with the almond and macadamia oils included in the mix. I’m officially on board (although I’ll spare you any Instagram pics of me covered in coffee!)
Are you like me and often ignore your body in favour of your face? What are your favourite body products?
