Having heard only rave reviews about the queen of all highlighters Mary-Lou Manizer, I was pleased as punch to receive her peachy-toned sister, Cindy-Lou. The Melbourne winter bleakness has been taking it’s toll on my complexion, and resembling the Corpse Bride is really not a look I’m trying to rock right now. A little something to warm my skin back up again is always more than welcome.
theBalm Cindy-Lou Manizer* is described as a ‘peachy-pink highlighter with a frosted sheen.’ On my lighter skintone, I’ve been definitely leaning towards using it as a blush rather than as a highlight, and getting a double whammy out of it as a contouring eyeshadow. As a blush it’s just beautiful, adding a subtle, warm glow to wherever you apply it. The texture is soft and buttery, and the formula is uber-pigmented. I use the Real Techniques Duo Fibre Face brush swished gently over the pan, and I’ll build up the colour on my cheek little by little. It wears well over the course of the day, and I might give it a little touch up every now and then to keep up the glow. The compact is so damn cute I’m happy to cart it along anywhere, especially given the handy mirror on the inside.
As I’ve got a couple of gorgeous highlighters in the stash at the moment I’ll probably wait a lil before picking up the famed Mary-Lou just yet, but Cindy-Lou will definitely be on high rotation from now on. If she takes your fancy, you can pick up Cindy-Lou (or anything from theBalm range) at Adore Beauty.
