New Skincare Bits I’m Loving

New Skincare: themaquillage.com.au

Infatuations with skincare products happen to me all too often – when I fall in love with a product, I fall hard, slathering it on enthusiastically and yammering away about it incessantly. This means I end up putting the blinkers on when it comes to new players in the beauty game (If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, amiright?) But when my favourite brands release new products, or my favourite bloggers rave about products, it’s time to unshackle myself from my routine and introduce something new into the mix. Here are the new entries into my skincare regime that I’ve been loving lately…

Antipodes Hosanna H20 Intensive Skin Plumping Serum*: Antipodes never cease to impress me (you can read up on my five top picks from the range here) with their gentle, effective skincare, which my skin seems to drink like it’s just endured a famine. The Hosanna serum is no different: the hydration level of this serum has been set to “uber” and my skin gets its glow on after using it. And if your addiction to products that smell like they are from the world’s most glorious day spa is anything like mine, then you’ll love this product as well.

Sanctuary Spa 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask: Oh blemishes, why do you vex me so. In the latest bid to eradicate pesky spots, I’ve noticed rave reviews pop up about this charcoal-based mask on several blogs (The Daily Mark’s sealed the deal for me) and I knew I had to give it a go. After a thorough cleanse, I apply a layer onto damp skin and massage in – while I’m doing this, the mask warms up deliciously. After a few minutes, I remove with a warm washcloth and am rewarded with super-clean, polished looking skin. (And if you get in quickly, you can grab Sanctuary Spa products on a 3 for 2 deal at Priceline.)

Bioderma Sensibio AR Anti-Redness*: It takes a lot of work to balance out the appearance of my skin – having a paler complexion that’s prone to irritation means redness shows as clear as day, so to come across a product that can calm everything down and also provide a primer-like base for my makeup in one fell swoop was a revelation. This hydrating cream’s green tint neutralises the redness, and boasts all the usual attributes the Bioderma range is well-loved for – kind to sensitive skins, fragrance free, hypoallergenic and not a clogged pore to be seen.

Antipodes Jubilation Hand and Body Cream*: Yep, another Antipodes entry and it’s become a bedside table staple already. Given my love for the Joyful hand cream is well documented, I was fully expecting to be impressed by Jubilation, and it doesn’t disappoint at all. Keeping the same non-greasy, quick-absorbing and ultra hydrating formula that I know and love, the exotic scent (a mix of fig, feijoa and wild blackcurrant) is delicious – quite different to Joyful, but still as addictive. I’m a big fan of vibrant metallic packaging of these creams as well, a lovely bedside/dressing table addition.

Alpha-H Triple Action Cleanser: As much as I love my Alpha-H Balancing cleanser, I found a recent change in my skin demanded a product more suited to handling combo/oilier skin types. This gel cleanser is packed full of both oil-busting and skin-calming ingredients, which leaves my skin feeling thoroughly cleansed, but never stripped or dry. I haven’t tested its makeup removing ability as yet as I do this with a cleansing blam, but as a morning cleanser it’s absolutely perfect.

Love the little roundup of products you got there :)
Is the Bioderma Anti-Redness cream supposed to be a moisturiser on its own? Or is it just an addition to skincare routine? I occasionally get prone to redness on my face so this product sounds perrrfect for me!

Thanks! :) I’ve been using it as a moisturiser on it’s own, it definitely gives me enough hydration… I tend to get a bit of blotchiness/redness etc, so it’s just really good for taking that redness away so I don’t have to go overboard on the foundation to cover it all up!
