Makeup Rewind: BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector:

In an effort to rediscover the little gems have been carelessly shoved to the back of my stash to make way of the current flavour of the day (oops), I thought I’d start a post series dedicated to dusting off these old faves and reigniting my love for them. That is if they haven’t slipped past their expiry date. Double oops. To kick things off, I’m starting with a secret weapon that I think every gal should have in her stash…

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone.
How this beauty really ever escaped my attention, I’ll never know. What I do know is, BECCA really nailed it when it comes to the subtle art of highlighting. If I’m to get straight to the point, what I love most about this gold-tinged highlighter is how is easy it is to wear during the daytime. No resembling a disco ball or looking like you’ve come off second best to a glitter gun, which is preferable when you’re hit with some truth-telling rays of sunshine. You just get a lit-from-within, natural glow that makes you look like you are well versed in difficult yoga moves and kale smoothies.

To apply, I use my RT Pointed Foundation Brush to dab on in the old backwards ‘C’ on the top of my cheekbone to up above my brow. If you’ve always had an inkling to sport some Miranda Kerr-esque dewy skin*, you can also mix a blob of this magic potion in with your foundation (which also has an SPF of 25) and voila! Dewy, healthy looking, glowing skin without all the constant water drinking and stringent skincare regime.**

See? Subtle glow. 'Scuse the unthreaded brows.

What I love: Pretty much everything. I’m calling it back into active rotation immediately. Move over Soft and Gentle.

What I don’t: The pump is always a bit over-enthusiast and dispenses way too much, so I’m left washing away the remaining product. Boo to wastage.

The BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector is available in five shades, and available at Adore Beauty or at David Jones. $66 a pop and highly worth every dollar I say.

Have you tried this product? Or the pressed powder version? What did you think? Let me know in the comments!

*No guarantees your skin will look like Miranda Kerr’s. But it might! This stuff is good.
**Preferable to keep up the water drinking and skincare routine.

Ah man, I thought this came in a pot like the souffles (now wouldn’t that make life easier?)(I also want those souffles and that guava beach tint). But HUBBA BUBBA HELLO supermodel skin! Miranda’s face on those new Swarovski ads make me cry because they are a constant reminder of how shtty my skin is.

She definitely won some sort of genetic lottery with pretty much every aspect of her fine self. It’s not fair! :)
