New In: Alpha-H Multi-Perfecting Skin Tint

Alpha-H Multi Perfecting Skin Tint:

I’m currently midway through a whip around Adelaide and Brisbane (wedding season y’all), and given the amount of time I would be spending hauling stuff between hotels and airports, there was just no way the usual contingent from my makeup collection could come with me. Just as I was about to start my usual ‘stand in the bathroom and stare hopelessly at my stash’ method of packing my makeup travel bag, a new arrival from my faves Alpha-H landed on my doorstep, which promised to be pretty much all I’d need day-to-day complexion-wise in one little package. So, of course it’s been getting the full roadtest treatment on my travels…

Alpha-H are the brains behind some of my all time skincare faves, including the Balancing and Triple Action cleansers, Liquid Gold and the Daily Essential Moisturiser. The latest product they’ve put their magic touch on is a tinted moisuriser, but a hotted up, turbo version of a tinted moisturiser, which boasts a slew of imperfection-blurring, skin hydrating and glow boosting qualities, and a broad spectrum SPF thrown in for good measure. Sounds pretty fab right?

There are two shades on offer – Light/Medium and Medium/Dark. Given I sport a well-cultivated moon-tan on a daily basis (although I have been playing in the faux tan cupboard, more on that soon), Light/Medium was the shade du jour. The texture is a creamy liquid that applies well with either fingers or a brush, and blends out really easily into an even, light to medium coverage finish. The shade Light/Medium is quite warm/yellow toned, and when swatched, actually reminds me a lot of the BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector, given the highlighting and skin blurring properties at play in the formula.

When I first put this product to the test, I thought I’d really challenge it by pitting it against the cold pallor of my just-out-of-bed-and-halfway-through-my-first-coffee skin. Once I could crack my eyes open enough to see what I was doing, I blended it all in and I looked… alive. Awake. I could almost be mistaken for perky. Note: I NEVER get mistaken for perky first thing in the morning.

Two things that bump this product up to ultimate travel companion (or handbag) status: It’s super-compact and lightweight packaging, and the colour-matched concealer and mirror cleverly built into the lid. The concealer works really well covering pigmentation on my chin, and it’s not at all cakey, dry or obvious.

It looks like I didn’t fill my right eyebrow. I promise I did.

The wear-time is fantastic – I managed a full day of vino-tasting in McLaren Vale (as you do while in fair Adelaide) and was able to cruise on to dinner with barely a touch up. The SPF 15+ is also a handy inclusion since I’m devastatingly lazy about sun protection. I KNOW. I’m getting better, I promise.

Overall, I’m not going to be shy in saying I completely love it. Packing up the makeup travel bag won’t be so hard in the future.

This sounds like a very cool product! The highlighting properties sound so lovely, and so handy having the concealer right there!

It’s soo handy, especially for travel. Love eliminating the need for a separate highlighter/concealer/foundation!

Ohh, I’m glad this worked on you and you liked it so much. I have the liquid gold but honestly can’t see a difference since I started using it :(

Ooh yes sometimes Glycolic acid can be a bit hit and miss, I’ve heard a few people don’t get along with it… If you find LG isn’t doing it for you, the First Aid Beauty Radiance pads are great, as well as the Radical Skincare Exfoliating pads xx

It sounds really nice! It actually looks like a good match for me haha :) Ooohhh I’m in Adelaide! Helloooo :D
